Resumption At West Arm

(N.Z. Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, March 5. Work on the underground powerhouse and associated works at West Arm resumed at 4 p.m. today. Work halted at 8 a.m. today when the West Arm combined unions’ association called a stopwork meeting of all its members.

The meeting was believed to involve internal union problems. Late yesterday afternoon about 300 men, mainly labourers and carpenters, stopped work, but resumed after an approach to the management of the Utah Construction and Mining Company.
