Boys’ Brigade Battalion Increases Members

The Canterbury battalion of the Boys’ Brigade increased its membership by 38 to 1647 and its officers by 26 in 1967, the battalion president (Mr J. L. Bush) said when presenting his report to the annua) ! meeting. The battalion area includes i Christchurch, Kaiapoi and SRangiora. “Although we have seen a good increase in the number of officers, new companies have not been formed at the speed we would like,” Ml Bush said. “We should see that suitable men are brought in to extend the movement. This does not mean just bringing in men to strengthen the present companies but also bringing them in for training in the established companies After a suitable time they are ready to begin companies with the churches in the new suburbs,” he said.
