‘DIGNIFIED’ CEREMONY
Wedding On Beach
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, Feb. 7.
The beach wedding celebrated last week at Bethells Beach, near Auckland, was a dignified ceremony in all respects, said the Rev. W. Rutland Martin, who officiated. “I regret that published reports should have given the impression that the wedding ceremony was other than sacred and dignified,” he said. “Great thought had been given to every detail of the wedding. The bride’s attendants wore over the reported bikinis most attractive crocheted frocks. “Many of those present remarked on the dignity and atmosphere of the service, which lacked nothing of the usual marriage service except the building. For this the sheer loveliness of God’s magnificent handiwork more than compensated.”
