AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. Substantial acreages of maize and barley being grown experimentally in the Auckland province show promise of providing a valuable supplementary income for sheepfarmers.

Under the sponsorship of a private company in Hamilton and its subsidiary, many farmers are growing grain for the first time this season.
