Fires Along Railway

Firemen from Christchurch, Lincoln and Burnham were called out to a trail of small grass fires along the Main South railway line yesterday afternoon.

The fires, between Templeton and Burnham, were started by sparks from a locomotive. The first call was to the Christchurch Fire Brigade shortly after 5 p.m. No damage was caused to property.
