Canterbury Retains Cup
Canterbury comfortably retained the Dorrie Leslie Memorial Cup when it beat Wellington by more than 100 points in the annual track and field meeting between the two provinces at Rugby Park on Saturday.
It waa the twelfth win in succession over Wellington for the Canterbury team. Wellington last wen the Cup in IMS. The wet weather may have influenced some of the results but there could be no denying Canterbury's superiority. Canterbury’s final points tally was 259. Wellington scored 142. Detailed results were:—
