Tiny Sal May Win At Nelson
Tiny Sal, which resumed racing this season after having a foal in 1966, should gain an overdue first win in either the Wakefield Handicap or" the Second Murchison Handicap on the first day of the Nelson Trotting Club’s summer meeting today.
Tiny Sal, which is trained at Templeton by her partowner, E. T. Hubbard, heralded an early win when she fought on for second, a head behind the promising Officer Kelly, over two miles at Washdyke on January 20. If she repeats that eflfort she should not be troubled to win today. Mayfield and the speedy Kerry may be the hardest for her to beat in the Wakefield Handicap, while Michaeloe and Crusader appeal most of her rivals in her second engagement. The T.A.B. double will be run on the Nelson Cup and the Yonkers Three-year-old and Four-year-old Handicap.
There will be an oncourse concession double on the Appleby Handicap and the Stoke Handicap. Fine weather is forecast and the track will be fast.
