Indian State Govt Falls

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CALCUTTA, Jan. 26. The Communist - supported United Front Government of Eastern India's Bihar State fell yesterday on a vote of noconfidence pressed by the Congress Party, led by the Prime Minister (Mrs Indira Gandhi), with help from a Leftist defector group. The vote in the State Assembly was 161 to 150 after two days of debate. The Speaker adjourned the House indefinitely. A similar situation prevails in Calcutta, where West Bengal’s United Front Government was superseded by the Congress Party last November after being dismissed by the State Governor.
