Cucumbers were again in plentiful supply at Christchurch produce markets yesterday. Shipments from Nelson, the North Island and local growers were available. Those from Nelson sold from 20c to 40c a case, North Island supplies to 60c a case, and local cucumbers to 50c a case. Celery, lettuces and spring onions were also again plentiful. White celery sold to $1 a dozen bunches, Utah celery from $1 to 51.40, lettuces from 20c to 80c a case and spring onions from 20c to 60c a dozen bunches. Kumeras were available to $2 a bag and potatoes sold from SI 20 to $2 a case. Other prices supplied by the Christchurch Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers' Association Were: Silver Beet.—To 75c a case. Beetroot.—To 60c a case. Pumpkins.—To $1.50 a case. Cabbages.—To 80c a case. Carrots.—To $3.90 a case. Cauliflowers.—To $3.30 a case. Onions.—sl.Bo a sugar bag. Parsnips.—To $1.50 a case. White Turnips.—To 5c a case. Radishes.—To 30c a dozen bunches. Parsley.—To 8c a bunch. French Beans. —To $1.20 a small case. Butter Beans.—To $2 a small Stringless Beans.—To $3.90 a large case.
