Petrol Stolen From Yard
Thieves took about 160 gallons of petrol, valued at $45, from the yard of Graham Stewart and Company, Ltd, Lismore Street, on Monday night. They also broke into the freezer in the venison packing works, but nothing was taken.
A portable sewing machine valued at $3O was taken between 10.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. yesterday from the Cashel Street shop of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Ltd. Records worth $6O were stolen between January 3 and January 5 from a flat in Church Lane. A house in Beatrice Place was broken into last Wednesday night and $7.45 was stolen.
Intruders, who were disturbed at 1.30 a.m. yesterday in the premises of the Linco’n Road Pharmacy, Ltd, 2818 Lincoln Road, left without taking goods valued at $9O which they had placed in a plastic bag The Bower Avenue Service Station, on the comer of Bower Avenue and New Brighton Road, was broken into on Monday night and an unknown quantity of cigarettes was taken.
Thieves who broke into the magazine at the Halswell quarries between January 4 and January 15 stole gelignite.
