N.Z. Success In Golf
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. Miss S. Ferguson was the only New South Wales junior golfer to win her match at Palmerston North yesterday, when match play in two groups of eight was held. The semi-finals and finals will be played today. Results (players New Zealand unless otherwise stated): Group 1. —Miss M. Smith beat Miss R. Wright (New South Wales), 2 and 1; Miss G. Longney beat Miss J. Stephenson <New South Wales), at the nineteenth: Miss S. Beadle beat Miss S. Wallace, 5 and 4; Miss S. Ferguson beat Miss A. Horne, 2 up. Group 2.—Miss V. Birchall beat Miss B. Shand, 5 and 4; Miss A. McPhun beat Miss J. Craig, 1 up; Miss P. Freeman beat Miss Bartlett, 6 and 5: Miss H. Waddell beat Miss P. Sisson, 2 and 1.
