THURSDAY (Before Messrs G. S. King and S. J. Halton, Justices of the Peace) TRESPASS On a charge of trespassing on the premises of the Christchurch Central Police Station on December 28, Donald Edward Cowlin, aged 19, a well driller, was convicted and fined $2O. He pleaded guilty. Sergeant F. G. Mulcare said the defendant called at the police station at 11.50 p.m. to make a complaint of assault. The defendant was irate and intoxicated, and refused to give his name. The defendant was told to return when he was sober, but he insisted on immediate action being taken. He was removed from the station three times before being arrested. OBSCENE LANGUAGE Maurice John Hale, aged 21, an unemployed bushman, was convicted and fined $l5 on a charge of using obscene language in Manchester Street on December 27. He pleaded guilty. NAME SUPPRESSED A man whose name was suppressed was remanded on bail to January 18 on a charge of indecently assaulting a male on December 20. He was represented by Mr M. J. Glue.
