Mr B. H. Sluis, who has been land manager for Pyne, Gould Guinness, Ltd, in Christchurch since 1941, retired yesterday after 45 years service with the flrm. Mr Sluis, who began as an office junior in 1922, has spent all his career in the firm’s Christchurch office, being transferred to the land department in 1932. At a function on Thursday afternoon, Mr Sluis was presented with a cheque from the staff of the firm.
