New Building At Lincoln

The building of a new field house, offices, and implement workshop for the Lincoln substation of the Grasslands Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research has been approved by the Government A telegram was received from Wellington yesterday as the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) was making an inspection of the Crop Research Division.

The new offices will replace a dilapidated building which began its life as a Patriotic Fund hut on Lancaster Park during the war. Later, it was moved to Lincoln, and in recent years has been “the hub of the field work” for the substation of the Grasslands Division at Lincoln.

The officer in charge of the sub-station (Dr K. F. O’Connor) said he was delighted that tenders could now be called for a new building.
