Scholarship For Farmer
(N.Z. Press Association) Dunedin, Dec. 7. A Wairarapa young farmer, Murray Parker, aged 18, was today chosen from 93 applicants as the first winner of the Donaghy-Telford Farm Scholarship. The award entitles him to a one-year course at the Telford Farm Training Institute, near Balclutba, and if he completes the course to the principal’s satisfaction, he will have a study trip to Australia. The three finalists for the award, all from the North Island, came to Dunedin last week for interviews. The prime requirements were character and a desire to make a proper career in farming.
