Top Shooter Dead
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. One of New Zealand’s bestknown riflemen, Mr H. V. Croxton, aged 82, died in Auckland this week. Mr Croxton twice won New Zealand rifle shooting's most coveted award, the Ballinger Belt, in 1920 and 1933. He also won the grand aggregate title in 1929.
He was for many years a member of the Karori Rifle Shooting Club, Wellington.
Among contributions to the “Mona Vale” appeal collected this week was one of $3 from the pupils of Westbuhl Primary School. The children arranged the collection of the money themselves.
