ICE-BREAKER LEAVES JAPAN FOR THE ANTARCTIC.—The ice-breaker Fuji (7760 tons) leaving Tokyo for the Antarctic. Forty members of the Ninth Antarctic Observation Team and a crew of 182 were on board. The ship is due at Showa Base, on Ongul Island, on New Year’s Day, and is expected to return to Japan next April.
