Yacht Leaves Da Nang
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DA NANG, Dec. 1. The yacht Phoenix left Da Nang on Thursday, its mission to provide medical supplies unfulfilled.
The crew was reported to have cast off before noon from a Vietnamese naval base. The destination of the vessel was said to be Hong Kong. The six . men and two women of the Phoenix were confined to the base during their four-day stay at Da Nang. Government officials would not allow journalists near them. Permision to deliver the medical supplies to the United Buddhist Church was denied. The supplies originally were intended for North Vietnam, but North Vietnamese authorities barred the yacht from entering Haiphong Harbour on the grounds that it was unsafe because of United States air raids.
Permission to give the medical supplies to South Vietnamese refugees also was denied.
Wright Building Goes. — Workmen today began tearing down a 44-year-old wing of the Imperial Hotel as scores of spectators- clicked their cameras to record the demolition of the historic structure, designed by the late Frank Lloyd Wright.— Tokyo, December 1.
