FITNESS TEST

"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND.

The South Auckland Cup favourite, Foxvale, underwent a veterinary examination yesterday before his connections were satisfied he should start.

Foxvale developed slight filling In his near front tendon after galloping at Takanlni on Thursday and although the swelling had completely subsided yesterday morning, some tenderness persisted. Dr J. J. Sullivan, the husband of one of the part-owners, said a veterinary examination showed the horse completely fit to run.

Plans For Red Sash

“The Press” Special Service INVERCARGILL.

Red Sash, which won two open sprints at the Southland meeting last month, is unlikely to race in her home province again until later in the season. Her Winton owner-trainer, N. L. White, has made tentative plans for Red Sash to race next at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s cup meeting on December 23. She will then be campaigned at South Canterbury on December 27 and 30 before going to Trentham for the Wellington Cup meeting in January. Last season Red Sash won the Flying Handicap at the Dunedin cup meeting, and later ran fourth in High Glee’s recordbreaking six furlongs at the Wellington Cup meeting.
