The position will entail working with members of a research group concerned with the experimental study of autoimmune diseases, and will provide experience in the care and use of laboratory animals. A qualification with advanced tints in zoology, physiology or microbiology would be an advantage, and some educational background and interest in biology is essential. The salary will be in accordance with the Medical Research Council scale and will commence within the range of $2400 to $3200 per annum. APPLICATIONS are invited from graduates in science for an appointment in the mass spectrometrv unit. The unit operates an M.S. 9 high-resolution mass spectrometer for service research and development work. The facilities of the unit are available as a central service for research institutes and university science departments in the Massey area. Work is also undertaken for Government and university laboratories in other parts of New Zealand. The appointee, if qualified, would be permitted to apply for registration as a Ph.D. candidate under the conditions for fulltime academic staff of the university. The salary would be up to’ $3210 p.a. and would depend on the qualifications of the applicant. The appointee would be required to take up duties as soon as possible.
