TYPICAL RUSSIAN HOUSE.—Comparatively few Russians live in houses, which are usually found some distance outside the cities. Most persons live in large apartment blocks. This house, about 10 miles from Volgograd, has shutters on toe windows to keep out toe snow and intense cold in the winter. The car, a Volga, is toe most common make in Russia; There are few privately-owned cars in the country.
