Yearbooks For Commentators
Because of the lack of information the Adelaide cricket commentators had on the touring New Zealand cricketers, the Canterbury Cricket Supporters’ Club have sent three Canterbury cricket yearbooks and a New Zealand almanack to Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The grateful Brisbane commentators acknowledged this yesterday during the first day of the game against Queensland. They were particularly interested in the records of the two successful batsmen, B. A. G. Murray and V. Pollard, and, in general, the comments and descriptions of play were more Interesting that those during the first game, against South Australia.
However, Taylor does not seem to please the Australian observers. In yesterday’s play he was described as being a newcomer to the New Zealand side, and as having taking 15 wickets in the three first class games he had played before the Australian tour. His first class aggregate was 137 runs, they stated.
