Three Out Of Title

(From Our Cycling Reporter) WANGANUI.

Three recent New Zealand representatives have withdrawn from the senior 100mile road racing championship to be held today. They are the Commonwealth Games silver medallist, D. R. Thomson (Wellington), last year’s New Zealand captain, J. Ludlam (Waikato), and A. J. Baker (East CoastNorth Island), the winner this year of the Tasmanian tour.

Thomson, one of the favoured riders, is troubled by a mysterious ailment causing numbness in one hip and leg. It first occurred in the Dulux six-day tour when Thomson hurt his back.
