Shipment To Chile

Included in a shipment of grade Hereford heifers which will be going to Chile shortly are thirty head from three fanners on the East Coast of Marl-

borough—S. Chaffey, of Kekerengu, and J. G. Murray and R. D. Middleton of Clarence Bridge. During the last four or five years Chile has purchased a

large quantity of New Zealand grass and clover seed; as a result of the improvement in their pastures they are able to increase their stock population. With the shipment there will also be about three and a half thousand Romney ewe hoggets. This is the first time a shipment of this kind has gone from New Zealand. Australia had the order until this year. Mr Jack Evans, manager of the stud stock department of Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd, selected the cattle The shipment is expected to leave New Zealand about the middle of December.
