Board $10m. Concern

The Canterbury Education Board became a $10,000,000 concern in the financial year ending January 31, 1967. Thirty-one pages of audited accounts presented to members yesterday totalled £1,914,196 for administration, works, school transport, equipment, and many other items. The finance chairman (Mr D. L. Waghom) said that if more than $3,000,000 in teachers’ salaries were added, the total would exceed £5,000,000 or $10,000,000.
