N.Z. WOOL SOLD
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BRADFORD, November 17.
Because of labour troubles at the ports, the normal November wool sales in London have been postponed. However, 1000 bales of c.i.f. New Zealand scoured wools were offered in Bradford, and all were sold.
Compared with the last London sales on October 13, values for scoured half-breds were 2j to 5 per cent lower; scoured fine crossbreds up to 5 per cent lower; scoured crossbreds 10 per cent lower: and scoured second-shear crossbreds 5 per cent lower. Competition was widespread, and the market throughout was on a much higher level than anticipated. Prices showed substantial increases on those being quoted for forward shipment from New Zealand, the official reports said.
