TALKS END

Humphrey Leaves (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) DJAKARTA, Nov. 7. The United States VicePresident, Mr Hubert Humphrey, left Djakarta today after a three-day official visit, apparently without holding any major talks on Vietnam with his hosts. The Vietnam war was mentioned at his meeting yesterday with the Acting President, General Suharto, and again last night very briefly at a final private meeting, according to the United States Ambassador, Mr Marshall Green. American sources said the talks did not go beyond the scope mentioned in an official statement issued by Brigadier General Sudharmono—secretary of the Indonesian Cabinet—which said that “Vice-President Humphrey clearly expressed the hope of the United States Government that Indonesia could search for a solution according to its capabilities to do so.”
