Second round matches in the Canterbury Cricket Associadons competitions were completed on Saturday. Results were: Second Grade A Lancaster Park 298 and 28/3 beat Old Collegians 144 (.Gebbie 44. Scott 30; Gaunson 8/42) and 200/8 dec. (Shaw 74 not out, Gebbie 34; Gaunson 4/55) on the first innings. Hagley Old Boys 323 (Smith 130 not out; Wain 76/4) and 67/5 beat West-University 186 and 244 (Hopkins 53, Wallace 51; Sibley 4/60, Adamson 4/73) on the first innings. Riccarton 262 and 121/5 dec. (Thomas 56 not out) beat Boys’ High School 176 (Calder 45; Nicholson 7/78) and 110/5 (Squire 31) on the first innings. Old Boys 253 (Maister 87, Spinks 55: McKechnie 4/42, Harwood 3/53) beat St Albans 220 and 137/6 (Eade 34; Judson 3/13) on the first innings. Christ’s College 320/9 dec. beat Sydenham 116 (Munro 5 38. Read 3/36) .and 136 (Howard 44; Read 4/13, Fulton 3/45) by an innings and 68 runs. Second Grade B Hagley Old Boys 223 (Hutchison 49, Andrews 36; McKenzie 5/38) beat Lancaster Park 144 and 89/7 (Hamilton 4/31) on the first innings. East-University 274 (Pullar 94, Hearn 60, Parlane 45; Munro 4'71) beat West-University 93 (Hounsel 51 not out; Knowles 3'25, Cameron 3/41) and 89 (Waters 3R; Knowles 4/30) by an innings and 92 runs. Second Grade C Linwood High School 258/4 dec. beat Shirley Boys High School 107 (Nahkies 36; Budhia 6/21) and 80/3 (Nahkies 30 not out) on the first innings.

St Bede’s 302/8 declared beat St Albans 229 (Walker 40. Thompson 33, Gaffeney 30; Costello 4/39, Campbell 3/42) on the first innings.

Burnside 214 (Rayfee 113, Thompson 36; Hern 3/28) beat East-Shirley 168 (Hayes 59, Blight 47, Ryder 30; Bryce 4/30) and 81 (Hayes 39: Bryce 7/24) on the first innings. Old Collegians 286 (England 121, Cargill 93; Chambers 3/70) beat Lancaster Park 247 and 109 (Carroll 36: Lovell-Smith 5/43) on the first innings.

SECOND GRADE D Riccarton 250/6 dec. beat Xavier 75 (Connell -7/29) and 171 (Hammant 65: Connell 4/37) by an innings and four runs.

West-University 186/6 dec. beat St Albans-Teachers’ College 110 and 57 (Sugden 4/20) by an innings and 19 runs.
