Savings Week
Sir,—So John Citizen’s newspaper is subsidised for him by the advertiser. How nice! And who pays the advertiser?—Yours, etc., SCRUTINEER. October 13, 1967. [We are concerned only to point out that “Scrutineer," who is presumably one of the few who do not read advertisements, cannot have it both ways—a I cheap newspaper, which is “nice,” and a newspaper without advertisements, which he would no doubt regard aa nicer still.—Ed, “The Press.”]
