TROTTING Stewart Hanover In Favour At For bury

If a hard race last Saturday night has not left its mark on Stewart Hanover he should be difficult to beat in the Recovery Handicap on the second night of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s spring meeting tonight.

Stewart Hanover began his four-year-old racing with a close second to Bass Strait in the corresponding event last week. Stewart Hanover ran Baas Strait to a nose in the Waverley Handicap and there is little doubt that he would have won if he had worked clear earlier. Stewart Hanover will not have to contend with Bass Strait tonight but one form runner he will have to beat is Abbey Nelson and a likely improver which could test him is Fort Nelson. Fourth was the best Abbey Frost could manage last Saturday night but a better guide to his prospects could be his second at Ashburton the previous week. Fort Nelson, one of Southland’s top three-year-olds last season, should also take beat-

ing with a more favourable run. The TXB. double will be run on the Commodore Filter Handicap and the Star Handicap. Spry and Logan Count may be the popular combination. But in the flrat leg s Quesnel and Vista Abbey will , have their share of followers, and the second leg fancies * are likely to include Stylish 1 Major and Dispense. 1 There will be an on-course concession double on the Kent sington and Seaview Handis caps. Now that Gershwin has i dropped out of the field the t popular fancy in the first leg i could be Norlight. The best t chances in the second leg are expected to be Killadar and i Dawn Peterson. The fine spell is expected r to continue. The track will I be firm and fast 1 Fields are:*FIRST LK OF OH-COURSI t DOUBLB . ».» p.m.— KBHSINGTON HANDICAP lisao; 2:18 class; Im.
