MOTOR DEALER’S BUSINESS SOLD

The motor dealer’s business of A. R. Mackay, Ltd, Christchurch, has been taken over by a new company, Cooper Henderson (Christchurch), Ltd, formed by two Wellington businessmen.

The new company i* carrying on in the former premise* of A R. Mackay, Ltd, at the corner of Tu»m and Durham Street*. The premise* are owned by Todd Moton, Ltd, Welliniton. Cooper, Henderron, Ltd, which has a capital of $BO,OOO, it owned equally by Mr D. W. Cooper and Mr J. R. Henderson. Mr Cooper was formerly secretary of Manthel Holdings, Ltd, Wellington, while Mr Henderson was tales manager. The new company retains the Chrysler and Rootes franchise held by A. R. Mackay, Ltd, and ha* employed all the existing staff. The receiver of Mackay Marine, Ltd (Mr H. Beettie) has told the retail stock to Mahan Marine, Ltd.

A petition for the appointment of a liquidator for Mackay Marine will be heard on October 25. Mr J. L Kerr, a publie accountant, ba* been appointed a receiver by Farmers’ Finance Ltd, Christchurch, under the company’* recond debenture. Mr Beattie is the receiver for the first debenture.

Mackay Marine closed it* door* on October 6.
