Three Awards By Humane Society

Three Christchurch men were yesterday awarded bronze medals by the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand. They are Messrs B. Kerr, J. Pickering, and G. F. Lindstrom.

Mr Kerr, of 9 Evan* Pass Road, and Mr Pickering, of 98 Richmond Hill Road, were awarded bronze medal* for rescuing two of four theological students from the rocks .between Sumner and Taylor’s Mistake on March 9. Two other students lost their 'lives, ‘- Messr* Kerr and Pickering set off round the rocks to the students after hearing that, the Sumner lifeboat, though it had found the two survivors, was unable to go close inshore because of heavy .
