<N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. The chairman of the Parliamentary Maori Affairs Committee (Mr A. McCready) said that there could be some “substantial changes" in the controversial Maori Affairs Amendment Bill.

| Mr McCready (Nat., Otaki) said in an interview that he hoped the 147-clause bill would still be referred back to Parliament this session.

The bill deals with fragmentation of Maori land titles, uneconomic interests, land incorporation and the [promotion and better use of ; Maori land. ; The Maori Affairs Commit'tee has been meeting at least once a week since early June to hear submissions from Maori land incorporations and trusts and other interester organisations.
