An Egyptian MIG2I jet was shot down last night in a brief clash with Israeli planes over Israeli-occupied Sinai, an Army spokesman announced.
According to the Israeli spokesman, two Egyptian MiG2ls violated the cease-fire, and flew across the Suez Canal. He said they were about 10 miles east of the Bitter Lake when Israeli aircraft went up to intercept them. The MiG was the twelfth Egyptian plane shot down over Sinai since the six-day ArabIsrael war ended on June 10.
