HEADER FEES

Concern At Increase

Initial registration fees for self-propelled headers would be reconsidered when registration fees were reviewed, the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) told the agriculture section executive of North Canterbury Federated Farmers in a letter yesterday. The general increase in registration fees stemmed from the economic situation, the Minister explained. The initial registration fee for self-propelled headers has been increased, from $2 to $2O, and the annual fee has increased from $8 to $lO.

Mr C. R. Bayley said he thought the sharp increase in the initial registration fees arose from a department “Hue.” The question should be pursued, he said. The chairman (Mr A. L. Mulholland) said that that would be done.
