Fendalton Bridge Corner
Sir, —Could I draw the attention of the traffic department to the Harper AvenueFendalton Road corner, which I think is one of the most dangerous comers in Christchurch? Twice recently I have nearly been involved in a smash through drivers travelling north-west failing to give way to traffic turning right into Fendalton Road. What is needed here is a set of lights. The main route to an airport should be made as safe as possible in the interests of visitors and the travelling public.—Yours, etc., LIGHTS PLEASE.
October 2, 1967. [The deputy traffic superintendent (Mr A. Laing) replies: “Proposals for improvements at this intersection are being considered by the traffic committee at the present time.”]
