AUCKLAND SERIES

Visit By U.S. Journalists

(From the London correspondent of “The Press”)

Nine top sports journalists from the' United States will visit New Zealand for the Inter - Dominion Trotting Championships next January and will continue with a tour of the Dominion. Mr Harold . Crawford, a Dunedin businessman, who is in London after a visit to the United States, said the writers’ trip had been instigated by Mr Irving Rudd and Mr Martin Tannanbaum, of Yonkers Raceway, New York. The group of nine were from New York and would be in the Dominion from January 9 to January 26.

Mr Crawford has offered to arrange their itinerary. “They want to go to sporting fixtures of all sorts, see trots and gallops, and go fishing—and they want to report on New Zealand as a tourist possibility after they have looked it over,” said Mr Crawford.

He said the potential readership of one of the journalists was 27 million Americans.
