(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. C. Chionoi, of Thailand, retained the world fly-weight boxing championship on Tuesday when his Scottish opponent, W. McGowan, was forced to retire in the seventh round of the scheduled 15-round contest with a badly cut left eye. \ The referee stopped the contest after Imin 12sec of the round as blood streamed down McGowan’s face and he could hardly see out qf one eye.
It was a repetition of a previous contest between the pair, in Bangkok last December, when the fight went nine rounds and the referee stopped it because of damage to the Scot’s nose.
