OFFICIAL RETIRES
26 Years On Committee
Mr R. C. Saunders, who was first elected to the Canterbury Cricket Association management committee in 1941, bowed out of its administration at the annual meeting last evening with the end of his two-year term as immediate past president.
In the intervening yeas, the positions filled by Mr Saunders included secretary, chairman, vice-president and president The new president, Mr J. C. Saunders, also paid tribute to three other retiring management committee members, Messrs A. G. Duckmanton, A. R. Arblaster and M. q. Stonyer. The secretary (Mr G. K. Young) was elected in a temporary capacity as his availability was in doubt for the full season.
Other officers elected were: President, Mr J. C. Saunders; vice-presidents, Messrs C. G. F. C. Hamilton and C. F. Collins; treasurer, Mr D. B. Hughey; assistant secretary, Mr B. G. Hadlee; management committee, Messrs R. L. Kerr, A. G. Williams, J. H. M. Dawson. R. J. Rasmussen. P. L. P. Doig, R. E. E. Gray, F. F. Dawson, I. Dempsey, G. W. Frampton. P. A. Sharp and R. T. Dowker; delegates: umpires* association. Mr W. R. Hobbs: boys’ association, Mr I. P. Anderson; suburban association, Mr D. N. Stokes: primary schools. Mr D. J. Elder; junior advisory board, Mr C. R. Seagar.
