Mass evacuation of the floodstricken Alaskan town of Fairbanks was under consideration yesterday as damage mounted to more than $2OO million and little or no relief was in sight, the Associated Presss reported. People clustered on rooftops awaiting rescue by boat from the swift waters of the rampaging Chena river, which rose more than sft between 8.30 P m. on Monday and noon yesterday.
