DAMAGE TRAIL

A car which crashed aS the reed in Papanui on Saturday night left a trail of wreckage. Hie car was travelling along Harewood read about 5.15 pjn. when it swerved toward the right side of the road, mounted the footpath and crashed through a email front concrete fence on the property of Mr E. H. Hawker, 168 Harewood road. It then craahed out through a paling fence which waa the aide boundary to the property and snapped a telegraph pole. The car then crossed the drive and crashed

through the other boundary fence te the drive, crossed some lawn and smashed Into the corner of the house at 176 Harewoed read belonging to Mr R. Turner. The house was shifted on Its foundations.

The car travelled across a further stretch of lawn crashed through a side boundary hedge and came to rest against a tree on the property of Mr E. D. Mulholland, 172 Harewood road. Three occupants of the car were admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital but were discharged yesterday. Russell Neville Bruce, of 11 Perry street, and Brian Lewte of 3 Blanray place, suffered head and leg injuries. Kevin Becker, of M Grants road, suffered head and leg injuries.
