Crusade Plans
All homes In Christchurch may be visited as part of the preparation programme in the city which will precede the visit of Billy Graham to New Zealand next year.
This was one of the suggestions at a meeting held by the Christchurch branch of the National Council of Churches, to elect a crusade committee, which has the aim of arousing interest in the crusade throughout the city. Although Dr. Graham will hot speak in Christchurch, his Auckland and Dunedin meetings will be relayed to the city by landlines. Those elected to the committee were Mr J. Taylor, Baptist; Mr J. Davis, Presbyterian; the Rev. L. Jones, Presbyterian; the Rev. H. F. Thomson, Anglican; Mr D. E. Salisbury, Open Brethren; Major R. H. Tong, Salvation Army; Mr R. A. Blampied, Associated Churches of Christ; Pastor L. Averill, Assemblies of God; and the Rev. O. N. Woodfield, Methodist
While the committee was fully interdenominational, the members were not officially representing their denominations, said Mrs A. Chapman, secretary of the Christchurch branch of the National Council of Churches.
