Ban On Visitors To Sukarno
(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) DJAKARTA., August 4. West Java’s military command today barred Dr Sukarno from receiving all visitors except members of his own family.
In a decree broadcast by Radio Bandung, the West Java military commander, Major-General H. R. Dharsono, also declared that Dr. Sukarno was prohibited from leaving the province without Army sanction. The decree said stern measures would be taken against individuals or groups who tried to see the former President in defiance of the Army ban. It did not . say if visitors could obtain special permission to see him. Dr. Sukarno lives at the
presidential summer palace at Bogor, West Java. Last week he was barred from entering Djakarta without permission and the city’s military command has already refused his first request to come to the capital for the funeral of a friend.
The effect of the new restrictions announced by the Djakarta and West Java Army Commands will be to end Dr. Sukarno’s week-end jaunts to the capital and cut down the number of visitors he has been freely receiving at Bogor Palace.
