Cup Plans Abandoned

"The Press" Special Service HAMILTON. The Wellington Cup winner Michael Molloy, which Is high on the charts for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, would not go to Melbourne, his owner, Mr S. Caddigan, said, in Hamilton yesterday. Mr Caddigan said Michael Molloy had suffered two setbacks in his preparation, and he had been kicked some days ago. He said he was dissatisfied with the gelding’s weight in the big cups. There were plenty of opportunities in New Zealand for Michael Molloy, which was second on the winning stakes list last season.

Mr Caddigan said Michael Molloy was a young horse and there would be plenty of time for him to travel to Australia. He might go next year.
