The Australian driver, F. Gardner, won the first “200 Miles of Nuernberg” race for sports cars, prototypes and two-seater racing cars, driving a Lola T7O. He covered the 200 miles, raced in equal legs, in Ihr 58min 54.8 sec—an average speed of 101.85 m.p.h. He also set a new lap record of 106.18 m.p.h.
