Blood-debt Vow

The Viet Cong has condemned the United States for attacking North Vietnamese villages nea rthe demilitarised zone and vowed to make the Americans “pay 10 or even a 100 times for their blood debts,” the Associated Press reported. The Viet Cong accusation was made in a statement issued on June 28 by the Viet Cong’s central committee. It was broadcast by Hanoi’s Vietnam News Agency today and monitored in Tokyo. The statement said: “Many inhabitants were killed or wounded” when United States planes attacked three hamlets in Vinh Quang village for three days beginning on June 20.
