EARTHQUAKE IN ALASKA

A potentially - damaging earthquake of "considerable force” hit an undetermined area of Alaska yesterday it was reported in Pasadena. A seismologist, Dr. Charles Richter, said the epicentre of the earthquake was about 2500 miles north-west of Pasadena.

He said it had a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter scale. Dr. Richter said he was unable to determine if the area of impact was in the Alaska peninsula or near Fairbanks.
