Bellringers At Cathedral
Marked progress in method ringing had resulted in Grandsire Caters and Plain Bob Royal being rung on the full ring of 10 bells regularly for Sunday services, the secretary of the Christchurch Cathedral Society of BelU ringers (Mr G. N. Sloan) said at the society's annual meeting.
Miss M. Solomon and Dr. R. Johnston, formerly of England, were elected full members of the society, and Miss S. Gardner and Messrs D. Gardner, P. Bull, C. Henderson, M. Rowden, R. Finlay, and B. Rawstron were elected probationary members. Officers elected are: patron, the Bishop of Christchurch, the Rt. Rev. W. A. Pyatt; president, the Dean of Christchurch, the Very Rev. M. L. Underhill; master. Dr. P. J. Perry: deputy master, Mr J. H. Gardner; secretary-trea-surer, Mr J. N. Dunn; auditor, Mr E. A. jWcPherson; custodian, Mr n. N. Dunn; committee, Miss L. Stevens, Messrs R. Hainsworth, A. Summerel) and G. N. Sloan.
