NORTH CANTERBURY For the first time this season one team has taken a clear lead in the North Canterbury senior Rugby competition. After the sixth round of matches on Saturday, Rangiora has a half-point lead on last year’s champion, Glenmark. Rangiora has won all its matches, while in the latest round Glenmark was held to a draw by Oxford A. Oxford B gained its first championship point in a drawn match against Kowai. Results: Glenmark 3. Oxford A 3; Kowai 11 Oxford B 11; Rangiora 12, Loburn 9: Amberley 11. Woodend 6; Ohoka 12, Kalapoi 0. Points: Rangiora 6, Glenmark si, Oxford A 4J, Ohoka 4, Amberley 3, Kowai 2i, Loburn 2. Kalapoi 1, Woodend 1, Oxford B J. HURUNUI Kalkoura increased its lead in the senior grade of the Hurunui competition, when it was the only team to win tn the sixth round of matches. For the third time this season, United drew its match, this time with the second place Culverden team. Results: United 3, Culverden 3; Kalkoura 6, Cheviot 3; Waiau a bye.
