N.Z.B.C. Policy
Sir, —It must hive escaped the notice of the acting-chair-man of the N.Z.B.C. advisory' committee that newspaper correspondence columns show a 3-to-l disfavour with radio programme policies. This suggests that there are alternatives to his interpretation of the lack of letters to the committee. Among these is the conviction that there is little point in trying to make an impression on either selfsatisfied component of that mutual admiration society. Your editorial injunctions to correspondents to communicate with the N.Z.B.C. over programme matters result, alas, in one-sided correspondence, and presumably the advisory committee is addressed through the corporation. It is sad to think that with the sound service at its nadir, the committee’s attention is being directed to television.—Yours, etc., CHOICE, PLEASE. May 27, 1967.
